George Fissler of the New York AC won the 200m freestyle at the 1932 Final Trials which earned him a spot on the relay team, as there was no individual 200m Olympic event at that time. He swam the second leg at the Olympics, where the U.S. was well beaten by the Japanese. Fissler won his only AAU title in 1933 when he took the indoor 220y freestyle.
