Biography
Dave Lyons swam at New Trier High School in Winnetka, Illinois and then for Yale University. While at Yale he swam on NCAA champion 4x100 freestyle relay teams in 1963-65. Lyons started out as a distance freestyler but moved to the shorter distances when Yale needed him for those events. After college he attended both medical school and business school. Lyons swam in masters events for several years, winning a few while representing the Florida Gold Coast Club.
