Nick Nerich swam for the New York Athletic Club, and supplanted Charles Daniels as the top swimmer from that club. In 1913 Nerich won Metropolitan AAU titles in the 100, 220, and 500 yard swims. His son, Nick, Jr., later started the Redding Country Club in Redding, Connecticut.
