Don Sheff swam the heats of the 4x200 freestyle relay for the United States at the 1952 Olympics. The USA went on to win gold, but due to the rules in place at the time, Sheff did not receive a medal. Sheff had swum well at the 1950 Maccabiah Games, winning several medals, although no golds. He attended Yale, graduating in 1953 and swimming for the Elis.
