Jadwiga Marko-Książek was a volleyballer who helped Poland win bronze medals at both the 1964 and 1968 Olympic Games. She won another bronze medal at the 1962 World Championships and also competed at the Worlds in 1960. Marko-Książek added a silver at the 1963 European Championships. Representing Gedania Gdańsk and AZS-AWF Warszawa, she won three Polish titles with the Warszawa club (1964-66) and reached the final of the 1962/63 European Cup.
Marko-Książek was a 1957 graduate of the general secondary school in Pruszcz Gdański and earned a master’s degree in physical education from the Academy of Physical Education in Warszawa in 1968. Starting in 1969, she worked as an academic teacher and trainer at the Team Games Department of the Academy of Physical Education and Sport in Gdańsk.
