Elżbieta Porzec-Nowak played on the bronze-medal winning volleyball team at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics. She was also a silver medalist at the 1967 European Championships. Porzec-Nowak won Polish Championships three times with Wisła Kraków. She earned 156 caps with the Polish national team. For her career she was named a Master of Sport, and received the Silver Medal for Outstanding Sports Achievement, and the Gold Cross of Merit.
