Georgy Mondzolevsky started to play volleyball in 1951 with Burevestnik Odesa and he won his first Soviet title with them in 1956. In 1958, Mondzolevsky moved to CSKA Moskva and played there until 1969. With CSKA Moskva he won seven more Soviet titles (1958, 1960-1963, 1965, 1966) and also won the European Champions’ League twice - in 1960 and 1962. Mondzolevsky played with the Soviet national team from 1956-1968 and won two Olympic golds (1964, 1968), two World Championships titles (1960, 1962) and European Championships title in 1967. He also won bronzes at the 1956 World Championships and 1958 and 1963 European Championships. After finishing his playing career, Mondzolevsky has worked as a professor with the Moscow State Mining University.
