Eduard Sibiryakov started to play volleyball in 1960 with Burevestnik Odesa and played there until 1966 when he moved to CSKA Moskva. With CSKA Moskva Sibiryakov played until the end of his playing career in 1971 and he won three Soviet titles with them (1966, 1970, 1971). Sibiryakov played with the Soviet national team from 1962-1969 and he won two Olympic golds (1964, 1968), World Championships title in 1962, European Championships title in 1967 and World Cup in 1965. Sibiryakov also won bronzes at the 1963 European Championships and 1969 World Cup. After finishing his sporting career, Sibiryakov worked as an officer of Soviet and later Russian Air Force.
