Larry Rundle played for UCLA, where he was an All-American in 1965 and 1966. He played for the US at the 1967 Pan American Games, helping win a gold medal. Rundle was named US Volleyball Association (USVBA) MVP in 1968, 1969, and 1970. He also played on the beach, winning 16 high-level beach tournaments in 1965-66. Rundle was known as one of the first American volleyballers to incorporate strength training into his workouts. In 1983 he received the USVBA All-Time Great Player Award. Rundle is a member of the UCLA Athletic Hall of Fame.
