Ray Snee played water polo for Australia at the 1952 and 1956 Olympics. He began playing the sport as a teenager, playing with the Bondi, Bronte, Coogee, and Balmain Clubs. During his career he earned over 50 international caps, and he stayed involved in water polo as a referee in local and state competitions. He was also appointed Chairman of Selectors for the Australian teams at the 1964, 1968, and 1972 Olympic Games. Snee was one of the founding members of the Kapyla Club, which arranged reunions of the 1952 Australian Olympic Team, most of which he attended from 1953-2018. In 2010 Snee was inducted into the Australian Water Polo Hall of Fame.
