Vukica Mitić won a bronze medal in basketball at the 1980 Moskva Olympics. Mitić captained that team and also captained the Red Star team where she played her club ball. She was known primarily for her playmaking abilities. Mitić won seven Yugoslav Championships and the five National Cups with Red Star, also leading them to the 1979 European Champions Cup. That year, she claimed a Triple Crown, winning the European Champions Cup, the National Cup, and the Yugoslav Championship. Mitić was selected that year as the best player on Red Star.
