Hans Schneider was a German water polo player from Duisburger SV 98 and was a member of the German silver medal-winning team, behind Hungary, at the 1936 Berlin Olympics. He was a runner-up again with the German team at the 1938 European Championship, again behind Hungary. He won 55 international caps. From 1939-41 Schneider won the German Championship with his home club Duisburg. His son Achim also became a water polo player and participated in the 1956 and 1960 Olympics.
