Water polo player Carlo Peretti won a bronze medal at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. Two years later at Torino, he won another bronze in the European Championships, and in 1955 he won a gold at the Mediterranean Games in Barcelona. He was a member of the S. S. Lazio team that won their first Italian title in 1956. Peretto graduated as an engineer and worked in Italy and abroad for many years with top companies like Olivetti.
