Biography

Bob Bray played water polo for the Los Angeles Athletic Club (LAAC) when he made the 1948 US Olympic team. He later played for the Olympic Club in San Francisco. Bray was a center forward known for his technical skills, including the ability to shoot forehands and backhand ambidextrously. He attended Fullerton Junior College and then UCLA. With the LAAC he won AAU national titles in 1941, 1947 and 1948. Bray served in the US Navy from 1941-45 and later became a realtor in Pebble Beach, California on the Monterey Peninsula. He was elected to the US Water Polo Hall of Fame in 1980.
