Biography

Mike Evans played water polo for the US at the 1988, 1992, and 1996 Olympics, winning a silver medal in 1988. He also won two medals at the Pan American Games, a gold in 1995 and a silver in 1987, and was a member of the 1991 World Cup Champions. He retired briefly after the Barcelona Olympics but returned to play again in 1996. Evans earned 207 international caps playing for the US.

Evans attended UC Irvine where he was named All-American in 1982 and 1983, graduating in 1984. After starting school, he served a Mormon mission to Venezuela in 1981-82; he was fluent in Spanish. Evans later set up his own insurance company, the Cornerstone Benefits Insurance Company.
