Ken Hahn grew up around Chicago and attended DePaul University, also playing with the Illinois Athletic Club. He played on AAU water polo champions outdoors in 1955 and 1958, and indoors in 1954-56. Hahn was a goalkeeper. He became a salesman, and later settled in Rock Falls, Illinois. Hahn was inducted into the Illinois Water Polo Hall of Fame in 1986.
