Preston Steiger played for the United States in water polo at the 1920 Antwerpen Olympics. Steiger represented the Olympic Club of San Francisco. He became an apprentice seaman in 1917 and served in the US Navy during World War I. Steiger worked in civilian life as a salesman, but died very young, at age 33, from tuberculosis.
