Austrian weightlifter Andreas Stadler won the 1923 World Championships in the featherweight class. He set five world records in the clean & jerk between 1922-26. At the 1924 Paris Olympics, Stadler won the silver medal, beaten only by Italian Pierino Gabetti. Four years later at the Amsterdam Games Stadler placed sixth. He won the 1922 German Fighting Games, and finished second in 1926.
