Biography

Yu In-Ho’s international bantamweight weightlifting career got off to an excellent start when he won a gold medal for South Korea at the 1954 Asian Games and set a world record in the process. This victory turned him into a nationally-recognized sporting hero, and he would go on to represent his country in three editions of that event at the Olympics Games, just missing out on a medal in fourth in 1956, and coming in seventh in 1960 and 1964. He closed his career in almost the same fashion as he began it, winning a bronze medal at the 1966 Asian Games.
