Biography

Jan Czepułkowski was a Polish weightlifter who won three national titles, 1954-55 as a lightweight and 1958 as a middleweight. He began weightlifting while a student at the Warszawa Academy of Physical Education. Czepułkowski won three major international medals. He was bronze medalist at the 1957 World Championships, and won a silver (1957) and bronze (1959) at the European Championships as a lightweight. Earning a masters degree in sports education he later taught and lectured at the AWF (Akademia Wychowania Fizycynego) in Warszawa.
