Carlos Badion was known as the bad boy of Philippine basketball because of his rough play. He made his debut in the national team in 1956, placing seventh at the Olympics. He then went on to compete in the 1958 Asian Games (which the Philippines won), the 1959 World Championships (8th) and the inaugural Asian Championships in 1960 (1st). He was also on the 1960 Olympic team, but twisted his knee against Uruguay, which forced him to end his playing career. Badion had a brief coaching career in the 1970s.
