Detroit’s Henry Duey did not threaten the two leaders in the light-heavyweight division at the 1932 Olympics, but he won the bronze medal rather easily over his teammate Bill Good, which was Duey’s only medal in international competition. Though he was born in Chicago, Duey spent much of his life in Michigan, where he worked as a tool and die maker for Ford and Republican Tool & Die. He also worked his own land in Belleville as a part-time farmer.
