Biography

Peter Kelley competed at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics in the 99 kg class, placing 14th. At the 1995 Pan American Games, he won a gold medal in the snatch and a bronze in the total. Kelley continued to compete and looked poised to make another US Olympic team, but injuries just prior to the 2000 and 2004 US Olympic Trials put an end to those goals. He later worked as a plumber and pipe fitter in St. Joseph, Missouri.
