Biography

Mohammad Ebrahimi was a pioneer of Afghan wrestling. Born in 1930, Ebrahimi began by practicing traditional wrestling when he was young. Ebrahimi represented the Afghan national team for more than two decades as a freestyle wrestler. In 1962, he won a bronze medal in the freestyle featherweight class at the Asian Games in Jakarta. Outside of wrestling, Ebrahimi helped establish the political party Hezbe Wahdat in the late 1980s, working alongside Abdul Ali Mazari.
