Enrico Bovone was an Italian basketball player who started playing at a very young age with Derthona Basket. He later moved to Varese where he was on loan to Fortitudo Bologna when he made his top flight début. Upon returning to Varese, he played two more seasons, and won the European Cup Winners’ Cup in 1967. However, with the arrival of Dino Meneghin on the team, Bovone was sold to Basketball Milano 1958 (the Milano second team). He played in Serie A until 1978-79, when he ended his career with the Siena team, Mens Sana.
Bovone scored 4,655 points in the top flight, and won 65 international caps after making his début against Guinea in the international tournament at Dessau, Germany, in May 1966. Bovone committed suicide in 2001.
