Steven Hallard combined a career as a draughtsman with a mechanical engineering company with a long sporting career with encompassed four Olympic Games as well as a host of world, European and Commonwealth championships. A multiple British champion, his greatest success as an individual came at the 1989 World Championships where won the silver medal but both his Olympic medals came as a member of the British team in 1988 and 1992. After his retirement from the competitive side of the sport he ran a company specialising in sale and rental of archery equipment.
