In addition to his Olympic bronze, Martti Nieminen won a silver medal in Greco-Roman heavyweight at the 1921 World Championships. He was also Nordic heavyweight champion in 1920, while taking silver in 1919 and 1921, and Finnish Greco-Roman heavyweight champion in 1921 and 1922, while taking bronze in 1924.
