Kensington-based Irishman Johnny Sullivan won the British light-heavyweight wrestling title four years in succession 1945-48. In 1947 he won, additionally, the British middle- and super-heavyweight titles. Sullivan competed in the 1946 European Championship at Stockholm and two years later, at the London Olympics.
