Biography

Willi Waltner was a West German wrestler who competed in the heavyweight class. He participated in both styles at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics, finishing fourth in the Greco-Roman and seventh in the freestyle. At the 1953 World Championships he was also seventh, in the Greco-Roman style. Waltner won national freestyle titles in 1953 and 1954. Sadly, he died in 1966 after a long illness; he was just 32-years-of-age at the time.
