Biography

Ragnvald Gullaksen was eliminated after losing two bouts in the featherweight division of the Greco-Roman wrestling tournament in Stockholm in the third round against future bronze medalist Otto Lasanen. Domestically, Gullaksen represented Bergen AK. He had seven top-three finishes at national championships: in featherweight (60 kg) one first (1911), three second (1910, 1912, 1913) and one third (1914), in bantamweight (57 kg) one first (1921) and one second (1920).

Gullaksen clinched another second place in the 1912 Norwegian Championships in boxing in the featherweight. Later, he became a referee in boxing judging at the 1924 Olympic Games in Paris, for instance. In 1925, he went to live in Chicago, followed by his family in 1928. He worked as a mason master.
