Muhammad Afzal wrestled at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics. For his wrestling titles, Pakistani President Ayub Khan had given him the title of Sher-e-Pakistan in 1960. Afzal later settled in the United States where he coached wrestling. In 2020 he contracted the coronavirus and died from the effects of COVID-19.
