Biography

Viktor Melin, representing Djurgårdens IF, had just one bout in the middleweight A division at the 1912 Olympics. Against Finland’s Fridolf Lundsten he was thrown after 46 minutes. Immediately after the Games, Melin, himself a fireman, joined the Brandkårens IK, a club newly founded for Stockholm’s firemen. For his new club, he won the Swedish national title in the middleweight in 1915. He completed the non-commissioned officer school at the Royal Göta Life Guard.
