The oldest of four brothers, Enrique Duarte played basketball for the Peruvian national team in the early 1960s. In 1964 Enrique and his three siblings Luis, Raúl, and Ricardo all competed in the basketball tournament at the Tokyo Olympics, with Enrique scoring 83 points in the nine games he played. Guinness World Records recognised the feat as the most siblings to compete in a single Olympic event at the Summer Games. 24 years later the Tamés brothers formed both of Mexico’s teams in the two-man bobsled event at the 1988 Calgary Olympics, setting the record for the Winter Olympics. One year prior to the Tokyo Games, brothers Enrique and Raúl also won bronze for Peru at the Summer Universiade in Porto Alegre.
