The light-flyweight division was not held at the Olympics between 1904 and 1972 so it could be said that Bob Curry held his Olympic title for 68 years. He won it by taking both of his matches by falls. Curry, who represented the St. George’s AC of New York, won the 1903 AAU Championship at 105 lbs. by defeating another Olympic medalist, Gustav Bauer.
