Biography

Gordy Morgan was an American wrestler who competed in Greco-Roman at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics. He also competed at the World Championships in 1990 and 1993-95. Morgan was a three-time US Champion in Greco-Roman (1991, 1993-94). He wrestled at the University of Minnesota where he was the 1989 Big 10 champion at 158 lbs (72 kg) and was an NCAA All-American.

Morgan was from a wrestling family. His older brother John competed for the USA at the 1988 Seoul Olympics and on three USA World teams, while his younger brother Marty competed on two USA World teams and won an NCAA title.

Gordy Morgan became a wrestling coach, leading youth programs and clubs in his home state of Minnesota, especially the Minnesota Storm club. In 2019 he was named Minnesota state freestyle coach.
