Biography

Shortly after World War II Boško Marinko began wrestling at the RK Spartak club in Subotica. During his career Marinko was an eight-time champion of Yugoslavia and represented the national team from 1962 until 1972. Competing in the flyweight class throughout his career, he won gold at the 1969 European Championships, along with silver in 1966 and 1970. He had similar success at the Mediterranean Games with gold in the Greco-Roman in 1971 and silver in the freestyle in 1967. Marinko also won bronze in the Greco-Roman at the 1970 World Championships in Edmonton. A two-time Olympian, he competed in Greco-Roman at the Games in Mexico City and München, reaching the third and fourth rounds, respectively.
