Katrin Adlkofer

Sailor Katrin Adlkofer partnered with Susanne Meyer-Bauckholt in the two person dinghy 470 class at both the 1988 Seoul Olympics (representing West Germany) and the 1996 Atlanta Games (now representing re-unified Germany). They finished fifth on both occasions. The duo landed their greatest successes at World Championships, winning two titles (1987, 1989) and two second places (1994, 1996). Both also won the Kieler Woche five times.

Adlkofer studied molecular biology in Berlin, Harvard, and Zürich, where she graduated from. For more than three years she devoted herself to research and teaching, with a focus on neural development in San Diego, USA. In 2000, she switched to business and corporate development at a biotech company. She then took over the management of MediGate GmbH, a subsidiary of the University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf. As managing director of NORGENTA North German Life Science Agency GmbH, she worked in the life science cluster for Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. Finally, Prof. Dr. Adlkofer became lecturer at the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Business Development of the University of Lübeck.
