Joyce Horton sailed as a crew member in the Dragon class aboard Skidoo at the 1952 Helsinki Olympics. Horton attended the University of Utah, graduating in 1956. Horton sailed alongside her father, Bill Horton, Sr. and brother William Horton, Jr., at the 1952 Olympics. Horton married Raymond Nielsen in 1954, but they divorced in 1967. She later re-married.
