Louise Van Voorhis finished fourth in the 470 Class at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics, crewing alongside Kris Stookey. Van Voorhis prepped at Hotchkiss School in Connecticut and then attended Yale, graduating in 1991. Van Voorhis was the sailing coach at Brown University in the 1990s, where Stookey attended school, and they became a crew. Van Voorhis competed at the World Championships in 470 in 1990 and 1995-99, with best finishes of seventh in 1990 and 1995.
