Malcolm Finlay played in all seven of Great Britain’s matches in the 1948 Olympic basketball tournament. Little is known of Finlay. At the age of five he went to live in Canada when he travelled with his mother and younger sister to join his father, who had emigrated earlier to Ottawa. Malcolm served as a naval officer with the Royal Canadian Volunteer Reserve in World War II before returning to relocate to the United Kingdom.
