Biography

Bob “Buddha” Billingham competed at the 1988 Olympics, winning a silver medal, but was also a five-time World Champion in various classes – the Solings, Etchells, J/24s, and Maxis. He was involved in several America’s Cup races, crewing on the winning America3 team in 1992, serving as chief operating officer for Paul Cayard in 2000 with AmericaOne and Artemis Racing, and later helping the San Francisco organizers prepare the facilities for the 2013 competitions. He also was involved with the administration and management of US sailing teams for over 20 years.
