Originally from Stockport in the North West of England Paul Joseph Coope was a sailor who represented Hong Kong at two Olympic Games. At the 1964 Tokyo Olympics Coope, John Park, and William Turnbull sailed in the three-person keelboat event where they finished in 19th place. Four years later at the 1968 Mexico City Olympics the trio repeated their result with another 19th place finish in the same event.
