After graduating from Occidental College, Dick Deaver sailed with the San Diego Yacht Club and was four times the Pacific Coast Champion. He also won three Trans-Pacific races. Along with Charlie Rogers, Deaver was a crew member for Lowell North in the Dragon Class at the 1964 Olympics, earning a bronze medal. Deaver later became a sailmaker out of Seal Beach, California.
