Biography

Peter Denzel was an Austrian sailor who participated in the 1972 München Olympics, when the sailing events were held in Kiel. He crewed with Robert Haschka and Ulrich Strohschneider in the three-person keelboat soling class and finished 17th. The crew also won the silver medal at the 1974 European Championships.

Peter was the son of Wolfgang Denzel, a legendary automobile manufacturer in Austria. He had worked for several years during World War II with Ferdinand Porsche from Germany developing sports cars. Peter Denzel then successfully developed the DENZEL Group, which became one of the leading companies in the Austrian automotive industry.
