Robert Eardley was a competitive sailor who represented the Bahamas in the 1960s. Along with Godfrey Kelly and Basil Kelly, Eardley competed in the Dragon class at the 1964 Tokyo Olympics and finished seventh. After getting off to a poor start they steadily improved, finishing fourth and fifth in races four and five, respectively, before winning the seventh and final race of the competition. Eardley later lived in England where he became the reverend of the church in the village of Tewin in Hertfordshire.
