Norman Freeman raced Flying Dutchman at the 1976 Olympics, in his boat, “Ole Yeller.” He won a bronze with that boat at the 1975 Pan American Games, and was second at the 1974 World Championships in Laser. He also won US titles in Flying Dutchman in 1973 and 1975.
Freeman graduated from Cornell in 1953 and was a lawyer who had his own private practice. He lived in Stuart, Florida in 2005 when he was arrested on charges of sexual molestation charges involving three minor girls. He pleaded no contest to one of the charges, was given a 6½ year prison term, and was designated as a sexual predator in Florida.
