Biography

Andrew Goldman sailed in the Flying Dutchman class at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, as a crew member for skipper Paul Foerster. The two started sailing together in July 1986. Goldman played hockey and lacrosse at Rye Country Day School and hoped to play ice hockey in college but a knee injury put paid to that dream. Goldman attended Brown University, where he studied political science. His father, Richard Goldman, was president of Hickey-Freeman, a well-known clothing manufacturer in New York.
