Albert Grisar was a cousin of Alfred Grisar, the organizer of the polo tournament of Antwerp in 1920, and a member of the 1920 Organizing Committee Executive Committee. Albert was a respected designer of racing yachts and a much sought-after helmsman for sailing regattas, notably by German Emperor Wilhelm II. Albert was also the general-secretary and later president of the Royal Yacht Club de Belgique. The club coined a commemorative medal of him in 1930.
