Biography

During the 1960s Finnish sailor Peik Gästrin competed at multiple regattas around the world. Together with Peter Tallberg and Fredrik Eklöf, Gästrin sailed in the 5.5 metres class at the Roma Olympics, with the Finnish crew coming 15th. A year later he came eighth in the same class at the World Sailing Championships, before winning bronze at the 1966 Nordic Championships in the Snipe. Prior to his sailing career Gästrin also played ice hockey for KIF in the SM series for the 1952–53 season.
