Charles R. MacIver was one of the 10 crew members aboard Mouchette, which won the silver medal in the 12-metre class at the 1908 Olympics. Mouchette was owned by his father Sir Charles.
MacIver served with the Royal Engineers in WW1 and saw service in France. He reached the rank of captain and, after the hostilities, worked as an insurance manager
